Time to start Week Four.
As you may have noticed, these "weeks" generally don't take a week -- they continue till we finish or run out of steam.
General Method:
There will be five main "subjects" -- Religion (on other blog), Reading (includes Writing), Arithmetic, Therapy and a Theme.
Therapy will be basically remedial work and scaffolding -- focusing on physical and occupational exercises and on attention and language skills.
The "Theme" will be loosely connected around something that teaches Aidan about the world he lives in. Usually it will be something he is interested in and that also has the potential to develop skills and knowledge he will find valuable in his life. It's possible to have more than one theme going on at the same time. Right now I'm focusing on measuring time because he's fascinated with it and it's also a good thing to know.
Generally he works best with a sort of spiral approach -- lots of movement through different things along with lots of repetition. He likes jokes and fun so we will make sure and move between delightful things and more practical things.
Each lesson may take more than one day. Move on when goals are 75% met but keep reviewing.
